All families and companies now have the Credit Moratorium available, granted by banking entities depending on the current situation. DECISÕES E SOLUÇÕES, the largest 100% national Real Estate Consulting network operating in Portugal, is providing free advice, via email and telephone, with its approximately 1000 employees distributed across 100 agencies across the country.
This Credit Moratorium aims to help families and companies, exempting them from paying principal and interest accrued on mortgage loans, in all banking entities. In the case of car loans and personal loans, the moratorium only applies to some banking entities. The Moratorium will have a minimum duration of 6 months, and in the case of some banking entities it may last up to 12 months.
According to Guida Sousa, National Coordinating Director of DECISÕES E SOLUÇÕES, “We are already compiling all the conditions of each banking entity through our network of 100 branches located from the north to the south of the country and islands so that we can best advise each client. With the State of Emergency, the network is contactable via email and telephone, whose contact details are available on our website. We consider that this is the contribution we can make to society at a time like this and that is why we mobilize our approximately 1000 employees in order to respond to all requests”.
It is important to mention that the Moratorium brings advantages and disadvantages, which will be duly explained in the advice that will be provided. An advantage will be, above all, the relief of monthly charges for those who see their income reduced, due to a reduction in salary or even unemployment. One of the disadvantages, if there is no extension of the loan term after the end of the capital grace period, will be the increase in the usual credit installment, since the capital repayment will occur in a smaller number of installments.
